'Color' commentary from the front lines - It's cold in here - but heartwarming!
Hey, it's Lisa R. -- wishing I had a little coffee to help rouse me just a bit more from a too-late night spent helping our "iReporters" prepare blogs, and because it is just darn cold here in the big Expo room at the convention center! I now wish I'd brought my favorite sweater, the one I never fly without. Except, this time around, I didn't fly -- I drove in from Philly, with Missy S. So... no sweater. Maybe I can pile all the Phi Sig Foundation shirts on the table in front of me onto my back and be warm? Haha, OK, it was just a thought anyway!
Lots of collegians and alumnae still "registering" with us this morning, having arrived first thing today from all over. Emily from Theta Nu (Slippery Rock) is preparing a blog to the left of me, perched as she is over the aforementioned piles of Phi Sig and National Kidney Foundation shirts that we are distributing to sisters. Caryn Jacquish is chatting to the right of me with a couple from Team Pittsburgh - and man, is she quite the "salesperson," haha! As a long-time volunteer and Fraternity leader, you'd expect her to be able to rattle off all kinds of great info and stories about our support of NKF and these Games.... Still, I have to admit, it is mighty impressive to hear her, and see her in action.
Sandy Grossman (known as "SG" among some of the collegians) has quickly made the decision to substitute sneakers for the cute sandals she previously had on.... Everyplace we're going, especially here around the Expo, takes a lot of walking! Better to be safe than sorry here at 9 a.m. -- 'cause it's gonna be a loooonnnng day.
Shout out for Ashley Ferrentino and Tricia McArdle from Epsilon Zeta - our two representatives from Bloomsburg University, where I've had the pleasure to be an advisor for the past 3 years!
More later!
Lisa R.
