Phi Sig chapter sisters reunited at the Games!

DSC01022 <- Sharon & Lisa, reunited!

We hear a lot about "first time" reunions here at the Games, mostly of athletes and donor families - always emotional! But did you hear that Phi Sig had a reunion of its own? Here's what happened:

Our sister and one of the new athletes in the Games, Sharon Hill of Epsilon Zeta Chapter at Bloomsburg University in Pa., showed up the other day at our Expo booth. She'd seen our sisters walking around in their letters and told us that she, too, was a Phi Sig!

So we wheeled her around to the back of our booth, where Sphinx editor Lisa Cellini Romero, who's helping us with communications for the Games, was located... figuring maybe we could get an interview because how cool was it that a sister showed up to compete?!

What happened next was a surprise to us all.... We said, "Hey, Lisa... Look! A Phi Sig at the Games!" And she looked up and her face glazed over in a momentary daze. She said, "Sharon...?" And we all looked around, like, "huh?" And Sharon looked at Lisa, and said, "Lisa, is that YOU?" Turns out, they are from the same chapter, had known each other when the chapter was founded and had lost touch. And that is how two people who haven't seen each other in nearly 20 years, but who have heard about how each is doing in the world, reunited at the Transplant Games!

Sharon had a liver transplant several years ago. We're thrilled to report she's healthy and happy, excited to be competing in the Games - and we are excited to cheer her on! Goooooooo, Sharon!
